Green Beans

I like my green beans simple for the Holidays with my favorite dishes. I purchase fresh green beans from a Farmer’s Market or Local Grocery Store. Make sure they look crisp and green.

  • A pat of butter
  • 1/4 Onion, diced
  • 4 cups of water
  • 4 cups of chopped green beans, like 1″
  • Salt, Pepper, Herbs

Add butter to a Medium pot or cover-able pan, add onions and saute. Add in herbs and then the water. Add the green beans, cover and let boil until they are done. The herbs steam the flavor into the veggies.

Drain everything, keeping a little water. Put back into the hot pot and add a little butter, salt and pepper to taste. Remove from pot and place in a bowl or small casserole dish.
